Ali Rogin

Rogin is a correspondent for the PBS NewsHour and PBS News Weekend, reporting on a number of topics including foreign affairs, health care and arts and culture. She received a Peabody Award in 2021 for her work on NewsHour’s series on the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect worldwide. She is also the recipient of two Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association and has been a part of several teams nominated for an Emmy, including for her work covering the fall of ISIS in 2020, the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2014, and the 2010 midterm elections.

Prior to joining the NewsHour, Rogin was a radio reporter and producer on the Capitol Hill and State Department beats for ABC News. Before that she was at NBC News, where she served as a political unit researcher, White House producer and campaign embed reporter during the 2012 election.

Ali is also the author of “Beat Breast Cancer Like A Boss: 30 Powerful Stories” (2020; Diversion Books), a collection of stories about breast cancer inspired by her own experience with the BRCA1 mutation. 

She is a New Jersey native and graduated from New York University. She and her husband live in Washington D.C. with their daughter.
