Tham Kannalikham
Thammanoune (Tham) Kannalikham is the founder and principal of Kannalikham Designs,LLC, a New York–based interior design firm specializing in distinguished residential and boutique commercial projects. Grounded in a classical education and informed by extensive international travel, her work is characterized by a rigorous understanding of architectural history, enduring design principles, and the cultural narrative of place. Her interiors reflect a disciplined approach to scale, proportion, materiality, and craftsmanship, while thoughtfully responding to the individuality of each client and the historical context of the property.
Committed to the preservation and advancement of American and European decorative arts, Tham works in close collaboration with architects, historians, and master artisans. Over the course of her career, she has contributed to a number of historically significant residences and landmark properties throughout the United States, including projects associated with the White House.
In addition to her professional practice, Tham is dedicated to mentorship and the cultivation of future leaders in architecture and design. She serves on the Board of Directors of the White House Historical Association and Old Westbury Gardens, and is a member of the President’s Council and Travel Committee of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. She is also co-founder of TED Mentorship, an educational foundation established to support and mentor aspiring women in interior design and architecture through the study of classical principles, craftsmanship, and design history.
